Cookie Break

Cookie Break

A certain number of students are standing in a row. The first student is numbered 1, the second student is numbered 2 and so on. The number of cookies with each student is equal to his/her roll number.

Every student has to share his/her cookies with at least one person equally such that everyone gets more than 1 cookie.

If two alternate persons (not consecutive) are not able to share their cookies like this, then the person standing between them has to give away all his cookies.

The cookies given by the person standing in between can always be shared equally by how many students?

Note: Students who have less than 8 cookies don’t need to share
